1. Emergencies: 911 first
CuidaLink is not an emergency service and does not monitor messages, chats, or forms in real time. If anyone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical help, call 911 first.
2. Abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults
Florida law protects elderly and disabled adults. If you know of or suspect abuse, neglect, or exploitation: Florida Abuse Hotline (DCF) 1-800-962-2873 (1-800-96-ABUSE), 24/7; TTY 711 or 1-800-955-8771; online at reportabuse.dcf.state.fl.us. Florida law (Fla. Stat. § 415.1034) requires certain people — including professional caregivers — to report; caregivers on CuidaLink must comply with this duty.
3. Telling CuidaLink and what we will do
After ensuring safety and making any legally required report, notify us at rubengomezesp@gmail.com (subject "SAFETY") with the what, who, when, and any case number. Upon a credible report we: acknowledge within 1 business day, suspend the implicated profile while reviewing when the allegation is serious, notify the partner agency, preserve records, cooperate with authorities, and inform you of the platform-side outcome where appropriate. Safety reports are retained for 7 years. Retaliating against a good-faith reporter is grounds for removal.
4. What CuidaLink verifies today
CuidaLink reviews the professional information caregivers submit (profile, training and certificates issued by CuidaLink Academy, and voluntarily provided documents). CuidaLink does not currently run criminal, driving-record, or credit background checks. Partner agencies are responsible for their own screening — including any Level 1/2 screening their Florida license type requires (Fla. Stat. ch. 435) — and families who hire directly must do their own diligence.
5. What "verified" means
Any badge or "verified" label on CuidaLink refers only to the specific check described next to it (e.g., "email verified," "certificate verified"). It is not a guarantee of identity, honesty, qualifications, licensure, or criminal history, and it is not a recommendation. Screening reduces but never eliminates risk: keep normal precautions (references, interviews, supervision, securing valuables and medications).
6. If CuidaLink introduces its own background checks
Before ordering any consumer report on a caregiver, CuidaLink will implement the full Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) flow: standalone written disclosure, written authorization, pre-adverse-action notice with a copy of the report and the CFPB summary of rights, a reasonable waiting period, and a final adverse-action notice.
